Going over how to create and organize Sign Types
VIDEO GOES HERE
Introduction
This lesson explains how to set up sign types when first configuring an organization in SignAgent
Sign Type Organization
- Sign types in SignAgent closely mirror the organization found in signage standards manuals
- Use folders to create basic categories for different types of signs
Create a Folder
- Use the wrench icon to create a new folder or sign type
- Right-click on a folder to create a subfolder or new sign type within it
Sign Type Components
- Each sign type typically includes a short code (e.g., A03) and a full name (e.g., bag claim ID)
- Consider grouping similar signs (e.g., different restroom signs) into one sign type for easier reporting
Creating a Sign Type
- Right-click on a folder and select "Create new sign type"
- Fill in basic information: name (e.g., safety plaque) and shortcode (e.g., A13)
- Optionally, change the color to match other signs or make it distinct
- Populate the rest of your sign standards and customize signs as needed
Surveying Tip:
Create a specific "survey type" sign to capture information on-site before categorizing back in the office
