Project Selection
Your site survey will contain thousands of signs. The 6-month onboarding training will focus on a subset of signs that need real-world updates, taking them through the entire process from planning to installation. Here are a few considerations when deciding on the scope of your pilot project. Keep in mind that this describes the perfect pilot project, but rarely is there work available that meets all of these features.
Size
Choose a project with 10-200 signs. This size is manageable and allows you to complete most of the work during your pilot period. During the pilot, you'll spend time setting up your data and workflows, so starting with a project of this scope helps you learn the system without becoming overwhelmed.
Timeline
Look for a project you can complete from start to finish within 4 months. This timeframe lets you experience every stage of the process, from planning through installation, while using SignAgent.
Lifecycle
The ideal pilot project is one that hasn't started yet. Starting fresh in SignAgent means you won't need to duplicate work or transfer information from other systems, making your learning experience smoother and more effective.
Finding the Right Fit
We understand that finding a unicorn project that is small, un-started, with a short timeline isn't always possible. If you need to compromise, prioritize selecting a project that hasn't begun yet. We can always use sample data or make adjustments for size and timeline, but experiencing a complete project lifecycle from beginning to end will give you the most valuable understanding of how SignAgent works.
Types of Project
Renovation or New Build
This is the most common type of pilot project. It involves work from construction, renovations, or new builds that you would typically manage outside of SignAgent. This project type gives you a comprehensive overview of most features and provides the clearest way to see how SignAgent compares to your current process.
Collaborate with Vendors
If most design, fabrication, or even maintenance is handled by third parties, this project type helps you establish a workflow for sharing information and defining who does what. We will focus on the movement of data and processes. Additionally, ensuring that any regularly used vendors can be present for the training as they will be working regularly in the system is important.
Prepping for a Large Project
If you have a major project on the horizon that you want to be well-prepared for, we can help you get started. This typically involves organizing and structuring your custom data, though you may not complete all the messaging content for every sign. While projects of this size can make it harder to measure specific outcomes, they can set you up for success with work that might be difficult to manage using your current methods.
Daily Maintenance
Sometimes a relevant project just isn’t available, but that’s okay. Even updating 1 or 2 individual signs can be a great microcosm for the procedures of a larger project. The set up will be a little over-engineered for the updating of only a couple signs but is a great introduction to all of the system’s features.
