Project Types

Differentiate between Design, Build, and Manage

Sure I could change him, but projects aren't my type

Project Types Explained

Each project type is tailored for a specific stage of the signage lifecycle, with different levels of flexibility and control.

Design Projects

Purpose: Planning, creating, and updating signage content.

This is the most flexible project type, intended for the creative and planning phases.

    • Total Flexibility: Anything within a design project can be edited at any time.

    • Custom Workflows: You can create custom states to tailor the project's workflow precisely to your team's process.

Build Projects

Purpose: Fabrication and installation.

Use Build projects when the design is approved and ready for manufacturing. This project type introduces some restrictions to prevent accidental changes during production.

    • Locked Messaging: The sign's core messaging is locked to ensure consistency, though other elements can be updated.

    • Customizable Process: While the start and end states are locked, you can customize the workflow states in between.

    • Simplified Interface: Features a streamlined interface designed for users who may not be in the software daily, focusing only on fabrication tasks.

Manage Projects

Purpose: Long-term maintenance of a signage system.

This project type is for overseeing a sign's entire lifecycle after it has been installed. It serves as a reference of real site conditions until the next time an update is required.

    • Locked Messaging: The sign's messaging is locked to maintain its installed information

    • Versioning: Allows you to create sign versions that capture past, current, and planned future iterations of a sign.

    • Organization Limit: Only one Manage project can be created per organization, serving as the central hub for all deployed signage.

Project Access by License Type

Your user license dictates which types of projects you can create and access.

  • Design License: Can access Design projects only.

  • Build License: Can access Build and Design projects.

  • Manage License: Can access Manage, Build, and Design projects.
