Aligning Non-Variable Objects

The term "Variable Object" is the text or visual that is input into a field.
The term "Non-Variable Object" is an otherwise static piece of the artwork that needs to move positions.

In most cases one variable field is aligning to another variable field, but this does not have to be the case. This is generally used in conjunction with more complex templating features like Group Alignment, and Variable Dimensions.

  1. Align to a Structural Part of the Sign - This includes sides and columns.

    • align_center_to_center: side 0in - will keep an object centered within the sign even if the dimensions of that side or object are changing.
  2. Aligning to a Non-Variable Object - The command can either align a non-variable object to something else or align a variable object to a non-variable one.
